A family garden that had got away this season. Cut back in stages and put on a fortnightly schedule to maintain the garden.

A standing fortnightly cut from March to November. Edges done every visit and the paths blown clear before I leave.

More ground than a pedestrian mower makes sense of. The ride-on gets it done in a fraction of the time with the same results.

Acres of open grass that only a ride-on will stay on top of. Kept on a regular round through the growing season so it’s always ready to be used.

Grown loose and shaggy, and starting to close in over the path and the border beneath it. Cut back hard, squared off and levelled along the run, with every scrap cleared up.

A long field-edge run that had grown up and shut the view out completely. Taken down to a level height along the whole length and faced up on both sides — the countryside behind it is the real before-and-after here.

A long run of weathered fence. Panels were removed from posts, wiped down and painted the full length, with the lawn edge and borders sheeted so nothing caught a drop.

Customer requested a change of colour. The whole run re-coated in slate grey and the shed re-done to match, bringing a modern look to the garden.

Left long enough that the garden had disappeared altogether — brambles and self-seeded scrub up past head height. Cut down in stages back to bare ground, then bagged and away the same day.

Hedges reduced and footpath reclaimed. Cut down in stages back to bare ground, then bagged and away the same day.

Brambles, weeds and years of dead growth cut back and heaped up ready for loading. It all left with me the same day and went somewhere legal — that liability would otherwise sit with the householder, not the gardener.

When there’s more than a trailer’s worth, a roll-on skip goes in and comes straight back out again. Cut, loaded and off site — no pile sitting on the lawn for a fortnight waiting for a collection slot.

Residential housing, hairdressers, accountants, rental properties and nurseries are a small number of the commercial properties I look after. Monthly billing.

Young trees, staked and spaced, with the grass between and around them kept down all season. Cut on a set schedule so the ground never gets away and the trees stay clear.
What I do
I’d rather be very good at a short list than average at everything. If you need something that isn’t here, ask anyway — I’ll tell you straight if it’s not my trade.
Weekly or fortnightly cuts through the growing season, with edges trimmed and every last clipping cleared away. Stripes included at no extra charge.
For paddocks and the kind of lawn that would take a pedestrian mower most of a day. Cut properly in a fraction of the time, on a schedule that suits the season.
Hedge cutting, reshaping and reductions — from a quick tidy of a privet front hedge to bringing an overgrown boundary run back under control.
Fences and sheds cleaned down and treated with a quality stain or paint. It protects the timber and it lifts the whole garden in a single day.
Large amounts of waste can be removed. I’m a registered waste carrier, so it goes somewhere legal and the liability never lands on you. Typically on garden clearances and large hedge cuts, at an extra charge.
Scheduled grounds maintenance for offices, letting agents, care homes and communal blocks. Fully insured, invoiced monthly, and always on time.

5
years looking after gardens in and around North Bedford
About
I’m Paul. I’ve been looking after commercial and domestic gardens across North Bedford since 2021 — mostly for people who’d rather spend the weekend in the garden than working on it.
You get me, not a rotating crew. I bring my own kit, and I leave the paths swept. If the weather stops play you’ll get a message, not silence.
Most of my work comes from neighbours or word of mouth from people I already cut for, which is the way I like it.
Good to know
Anything else, just pick up the phone — I don’t mind a chat about what your garden needs.

It depends on the size of the garden. Regular grass cuts start from £15 a visit. I’ll always give you a fixed price before I start — no hourly surprises.
Typically we’re a fortnightly visit, but during dry periods we generally drop to every three weeks. It’s different every year depending on the weather.
Yes. I’m a registered waste carrier, though we aim to put all waste in the green bins provided. Very large clearance jobs will be an additional cost, in which case I’ll flag it up front.
I work through light rain. If I need to move your visit you’ll be given plenty of notice, and you’re never charged for a missed visit.
Not at all, as long as I can get to the garden. Plenty of my regulars leave a side gate unlocked, and I’ll message you once the job is complete.
Both. One-off grass, hedge cuts and fence painting are very welcome — there’s no obligation to sign up to anything ongoing.
Yes — £10m public liability. Commercial clients can have a copy of the certificate and a method statement on request.
